Hi,
My betta's just mated and she let some eggs out, and thought that was it. I didnt know they did the embrace more then once !
I tried to put her back in but shes not in "the mood" anymore and hes chasing her. She keeps going up to the bubble nest and biting at it.
I saw eggs at the bottom of the tank like 20. But they were under the stones, and he couldnt get them I guess ( this is like 15 minutes later)
I moved the stones with something, and could only let some of the eggs free without having recked his bubble nest.
But he's not picking them up? What can I do? Should I put her back in?Or am I out of luck?
Thanks
alisha

Re: Help!!! interupted spawning! Male wont pick up eggs!
Fri, February 9, 2007 - 4:56 PMYou should remove the female after they have spawned, as the male will become aggressive toward the eggs. When you are trying to breed your fish, put them in a tank without any gravel or anything on the bottom as the male finds it more difficult to pick the eggs up. You should also have the water height be about 5 inches or so because the male will get tired out by picking up the eggs and bringing them back to the bubble nest. You definitely need to take the female out and put her back in her tank.
Read more about breeding bettas. Google searching does wonders. -
